this past weekend marked the first annual mystery trip, a time when my high school girlfriends (the members of the sisterhood of the traveling purse) get together for a long weekend and enjoy just being together. each year, two of us take on the challenge of planning the weekend so that all of the events (including the location) are kept secret until just before the trip. this year, nicole and i agreed to plan the vacation.

activities: breakfast on the porch, overlooking the lake
hike up castle rock trail, ending in a beautiful view of the area
spa date with massages for everyone (sorry, no pictures)
art and craft time spent decoupaging journals
out to eat at the peppercorn grill
an indoor picnic due to rain
lots of conversation, food, and relaxation
